In response to past year’s feedback and following best practices at like-minded and sized congregations, we are offering the following enhancements to our shared High Holy Days experience.
* Family Services will be held on Rosh Hashanah as well as Yom Kippur day, due to overwhelming demand and past success. This will allow parents and kids to pray together in a format that is conducive to each child’s particular age.
* Youth programming will begin earlier and end later so that parents will not be locked into set arrival and departure times.
* Traditional services will be offered with our senior clergy team rotating between the sanctuary and parallel rooms. This will provide more exposure of our senior clergy to the greater congregation.
* Open seating will be offered in the parallel room for all services. Open seating has been the standard in the parallel room for the past two-years on the 2nd Day of Rosh Hashanah. This has happened with relatively little challenge. Also, open seating has been the standard for Yizkor and Neilah of Yom Kippur for the past 15 years. Allowing people to choose their seats makes an environment where ones satisfaction is correlated to arrival time and not office assignments.
